Greetings, Rees Star Families,

My name is Mireya Lara, and I am the principal at Rees Elementary Performing and Visual Arts Academy. I have been a proud member of the Alief family for more than 11 years and principal at Rees for over two years. Before becoming a principal, I taught Bilingual PK, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, as well as 2nd Grade Dual Language, and have served as the RTI/Dyslexia Teacher, Bilingual Counselor, and Assistant Principal.

I graduated from the University of Houston, where I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I also hold a Master's in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University.
